Heart of Midlothian, known as Hearts, is the largest club in the Scottish capital Edinburgh and one of the most traditional in the country. Founded in 1874, the club has a rich and remarkable history in Scottish football, being the main representative of the city of Edinburgh. It is the historic rival of Hibernian in the famous 'Edinburgh Derby'.

History

Hearts won four Scottish titles and eight Scottish Cups throughout its centennial history. The club has an emotional memorial dedicated to the 16 players who left football to fight in the First World War in 1914, becoming a symbol of Scottish patriotism. In the 1990s, Hearts was one of the most competitive clubs in Scotland under Jim Jefferies. Legends like John Robertson and Gary Mackay are revered in Edinburgh.
