History

Hércules Club de Fútbol was founded in 1922 in the city of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, and throughout its history had several spells in the first division of Spanish football. Its moment of greatest national prominence occurred in the 2010-11 season, when the club returned to La Liga after a long period of absence, playing matches against Spain's main teams, including a historic victory over Barcelona. Currently, Hércules competes in the intermediate divisions of Spanish football, maintaining strong support from the Alicante fan base and one of the most traditional rivalries in the region with Elche CF.
