Holanda Atlético Clube

Holanda Atlético Clube

One of the pioneering clubs of Amazonian football, founded in the early twentieth century in Manaus, during a period of great sporting effervescence linked to the rubber cycle.

History

Holanda Atlético Clube was founded in Manaus in the early 1910s, during one of the periods of greatest economic and social effervescence in the Amazonian capital, driven by the rubber cycle, when various sports clubs emerged in the city. The club competed in the first organized football championships of Amazonas, alongside other pioneering associations in the region, contributing to the structuring of local football in the following decades. Over the years, Holanda lost competitive strength in the face of the professionalization of clubs like Nacional, Rio Negro and Fast Clube, but remains remembered as part of the initial history of football in Manaus.
