Major League Soccer club based in Houston, Texas, two-time MLS Cup champion in its first two seasons of existence.

History

Houston Dynamo was founded in 2005, following the relocation of the San Jose Earthquakes franchise to Texas. Already in its debut season in 2006, the club won the MLS Cup, repeating the feat in 2007, becoming back-to-back champion early in its history. Throughout the 2010s, Dynamo remained a competitive club in the Eastern Conference, disputing the MLS Cup final again in 2011 and 2012, although without winning the title on those occasions. The club has a strong connection with Houston's Latin American community and plays its matches at Shell Energy Stadium, in downtown, since 2012.
