Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town is an English club from Huddersfield, founded in 1908. It was the first team to win three consecutive English first division championships, between 1924 and 1926.

History

Huddersfield Town was founded in 1908 and quickly became one of the great forces of English football in the 1920s. Under the command of Herbert Chapman, the club won the FA Cup in 1922 and, in the same year, the Community Shield, then called the Charity Shield. The peak came between 1924 and 1926, when Huddersfield won the English first division three times in a row, an unprecedented feat at the time. Chapman left the club to manage Arsenal in 1925, and the third title came under the command of Cecil Potter. After the golden era, the club alternated divisions and disputed FA Cup finals in 1928, 1930 and 1938, without winning the trophy again. Later, in 2017, Huddersfield achieved promotion to the Premier League by winning the second division playoffs. The team plays its home matches at Kirklees Stadium, inaugurated in 1994. The nickname Terriers makes reference to the dog breed.
