A football club from Ceará founded in Iguatu, in the interior of Ceará, which established itself as one of the main forces in football in the Northeast interior in recent decades.

History

Iguatu Football Club was founded in 1980 in the city of Iguatu, in the central backlands of Ceará, and since then became a reference in football in the interior of the state. The club plays its matches at Morenão Stadium, with a capacity of around 8,000 fans. In the decades following its founding, Iguatu established itself as one of the main teams outside the capital Fortaleza, alternating participations between the divisions of the Ceará Championship and national access competitions, such as Serie D of the Brazilian Championship. The club gained greater national projection from the 2010s onwards, when it began to regularly compete in national competitions organized by the CBF, representing the interior of Ceará in tournaments of federal scope.
