History
Imperatriz Esporte Clube was founded on September 27, 1938, on the banks of the Tocantins River, in one of the most important cities in the interior of Maranhão. Since its founding, the club became the main representative of football in the South region of Maranhão, conquering the hearts of a vast passionate fan base. Throughout its history, Gavião-Real has accumulated multiple titles from the Campeonato Maranhense, being the interior club with the highest number of state championships in the state. The rivalry with clubs from the capital São Luís has always motivated the development of local football and attracted attention to the city.
