History
Founded in the 1940s, Independência is one of the oldest clubs in Acre football, having witnessed the formation of the state's main competitions throughout the twentieth century. The club maintained a constant presence in the Campeonato Acreano, alternating seasons of prominence with periods of reconstruction. Throughout its trajectory, Independência formed important regional rivalries within the state, contributing to the popularization of football in the Acre capital. Like most clubs in Acre, it faced structural difficulties competing at the national level, concentrating its activities in state competitions. In recent years, the club continues to compete in the divisions of Acre football, seeking spots in national access competitions, such as Série D of the Campeonato Brasileiro, when qualified through the state championship.
