Independente Football Club
Traditional club from Macapá, capital of Amapá, with a history of participation in the Amapá State Championship and in access competitions of Brazilian football.
History
Independente Futebol Clube was founded in 1944 in Macapá and has since been one of the protagonists of Amapá football, hosting its matches at Estádio Zerão, the main sports venue in the state. The club has accumulated participations in the Amapá State Championship throughout its history, alternating moments of state prominence with reconstruction phases, a common scenario among teams from states with more restricted professional football. Beyond state competitions, Independente has represented Amapá in editions of national access competitions, such as Serie D of the Brazilian Championship, contributing to the development of local athletes.
