Version of Internacional in the 2023 season, which reached the Copa Libertadores semi-final under the command of Eduardo Coudet. The team eliminated River Plate and Bolívar before falling to Fluminense.
History
The 2023 season started unstably for Internacional, with elimination in the semi-final of the Campeonato Gaúcho and a coaching change: Mano Menezes left the club and Eduardo Coudet took over in May, in his second stint at Beira-Rio. In the Copa Libertadores, Inter advanced from the group stage and passed Bolívar in the Round of 16. In the quarter-finals, they eliminated River Plate in Argentina, with a penalty shootout victory at the Monumental de Núñez, a result that became one of the most memorable moments of the campaign. In the semi-final, Internacional was eliminated by Fluminense, defeated 2-1 at the Maracanã and drawing 2-2 at the Beira-Rio. The club finished the year without titles and ended the Campeonato Brasileiro in the middle of the table, but secured another spot in the Libertadores. Among the highlights of the squad were goalkeeper Sergio Rochet, defender Mercado, midfielder Alan Patrick as the main playmaker and striker Enner Valencia, signed during the season.
