Women's football department of Sport Club Internacional, founded in 2013 to represent the southern club in women's base and professional competitions.

History

Sport Club Internacional's women's team was created in 2013 as part of a movement by Brazilian clubs to restructure their women's departments after years of neglect. Since then, the team has become a relevant regional force in Rio Grande do Sul. The Colorada team won several titles in the Campeonato Gaúcho Feminino (Rio Grande do Sul Women's Championship), consolidating the historic rivalry with Grêmio also in women's categories. The team regularly competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino (Brazilian Women's Championship), seeking greater national projection. With increasing investment in infrastructure and youth categories, Internacional Women has developed athletes for larger clubs and for the Brazilian national team, following the trend of professionalization of women's football in the country.
