Iraty Sport Club

Founded in 1914 in the city of Irati, in the interior of Paraná, Iraty Sport Club is one of the oldest football clubs in the state. Throughout its history, it competed in state and regional competitions representing the Campos Gerais region.

History

Iraty Sport Club was born on April 21, 1914, founded by a group of sportsmen led by Antônio Xavier da Silveira, in the city of Irati, interior of Paraná. The club's first official match ended in a 3-0 victory over Imbituvense, still in that founding year, consolidating Iraty as one of the first organized associations in the interior of Paraná. Over the decades, the club maintained its red and black colors — documented in historical photographs dating back to 1938 — and became a sports reference in the region. In 1950, Coronel Emílio Gomes Stadium was inaugurated, with a capacity of approximately 8,000 fans, which became the team's official home. One of the most important milestones in the club's recent history occurred on May 1, 2002, when Iraty won its first state title in the Second Division of the Paraná State Championship, a result that guaranteed the team a spot to compete in the Copa do Brasil the following year. The feat is remembered as one of the highlights of the club's centennial trajectory in football in the interior of Paraná.
