Minas Gerais club from the city of Itabirito that rose to professional football in the 2020s. Competes in the Minas Gerais State Championship and reached Module I of the state elite.

History

Itabirito Football Club was founded in 2008 in the city of Itabirito, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, initially focusing on youth categories. The club turned professional and began climbing through the divisions of Minas Gerais football, earning promotion from the Second Division and then from Module II of the Minas Gerais State Championship, reaching the state elite in 2023. In 2024, Itabirito competed for the first time in Module I of the Minas Gerais State Championship, facing giants like Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro and América. Because it does not have its own approved stadium, the club plays its home games at venues throughout the region, such as Arena Vila Rica. The rapid rise made the club one of the most talked-about projects in inland Minas Gerais.
