History
Ituano Futebol Clube was founded on May 24, 1947, in the city of Itu, in the interior of São Paulo. For decades it competed in the lower divisions of São Paulo football, playing its home matches at Estádio Novelli Júnior. The first great achievement came in 2002, when the club won the Paulista Championship, taking advantage of a season when the major clubs prioritized the Rio-São Paulo Tournament. The title definitively put the Itu Rooster on the map of Brazilian football. In 2014, Ituano repeated the feat in an even more impressive way: it eliminated major rivals and defeated Santos in the final on penalties, winning its second state title against one of the giants of national football. In 2021, the club won the Brazilian Championship Series C, securing promotion to Series B, where it competed in the following seasons, establishing itself as a competitive club on the national scene.
