A traditional club from Pernambuco, founded in 1976 as a result of the merger of two local clubs. A regular participant in the Pernambuco Championship and Copa do Nordeste, Jaboatão is one of the main representatives of the Metropolitan Region of Recife.

Cornélio de Barros Stadium, located in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, became the club's home, venue for great state derbies. The club's organization allowed consistent presence in the main state divisions, with regular participation in Copa do Nordeste, a competition that offers opportunities for national visibility.
