Jataiense Sports Association
Founded on January 11, 1952, in the former projection room of Cinema Avenida in Jataí, Jataiense Sports Association is the leading football club in southwestern Goiás, historically competing in the Goiás Championship.
History
Jataiense was born from the enthusiasm of a group of residents of the city of Jataí, in the interior of Goiás, who founded the club in 1952 with Jerônimo Ferreira Fraga as its first president — a name that today names the municipal stadium of the city, the Arapucão, with a capacity of around 18,000 supporters. With its green and white colors and the nickname Fox of the Southwest, the club consolidated itself over the decades as the main sporting representative of Jataí, alternating participations between the elite and the access divisions of the Goiás Championship. In recent years, Jataiense has undergone overhauls in its squad and structure to seek to remain among the top clubs of Goiás football, keeping alive the tradition of over seven decades of history in the southwest of the state.
