Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors is the most dominant club in the history of modern South Korean football, with an unprecedented sequence of national titles. Founded in 1994 as a team of the Hyundai Motors manufacturer, the club quickly rose to become the most feared powerhouse of the K League. With excellent investment in infrastructure and signings, Jeonbuk established a standard of excellence in Asian football.

History

The club won a record of nine K League 1 titles, in addition to two AFC Champions League titles in 2006 and 2016. Jeonbuk participated in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2016, representing Asia with distinction. The team is known for its defensive solidity combined with efficient attack and for developing talents that later played for the South Korean national team. Its hegemony in South Korea is compared to the dominance of clubs like Bayern Munich in Germany.
