History

Founded on March 19, 1913, Joinville Esporte Clube emerged in a city strongly marked by European immigration, especially German. The club quickly became a reference in Southern Brazilian football, winning successive titles in the Catarinense Championship and projecting the city's name in the national scene. In the 1970s and 1980s, JEC lived its best phase in national football, with regular participation in Series A of the Brazilian Championship. The club even became a semifinalist in the Copa do Brasil and revealed several players who shined in great teams in the country. Arena Joinville became one of the main stadiums in Catarinense football. The club went through a serious financial and administrative crisis in the 2010s, being relegated successive times and reaching the lower divisions of national football. The fans, loyal and passionate, followed the club in all moments, and JEC gradually seeks to recover its prestige in Catarinense and Brazilian football.
