History
Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie was born on August 2, 1946, in Tizi Ouzou, and became one of the sporting symbols of the Kabylie region. The club is known as La JSK, Canaries and Lions of Djurdjura. Access to the Algerian elite came in 1969, with a goal by Arezki Kouffi. From the 1969–70 season, the team started a streak of remaining in the top division, with no relegations until the 2025–26 season. The 1970s and 1980s formed the club's golden era, with managers Mahieddine Khalef and Stefan Żywotko. In 1981, under the captaincy of Mouloud Iboud, JSK conquered Africa for the first time. In 1990, it repeated the feat with Abdelhamid Sadmi as captain and Ali Fergani, 1981 champion as a player, in charge. The continental dimension increased with the 1995 African Cup Winners' Cup and three consecutive CAF Cup victories, in 2000, 2001 and 2002, a competition record. In 2024, the club moved from the November 1, 1954 Stadium, its home since 1978, to the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, with a capacity of 50,766 fans.
