History
Founded in 1975 in the city of Juazeiro, located in the extreme north of the state of Bahia on the banks of the São Francisco River, Associação Desportiva Juazeirense emerged as the greatest representative of football in one of the most strategic regions of northeastern Brazil. The city, an important commercial and historical center of the backlands, has always had great passion for football. The club built its history by regularly competing in the Bahian Championship, becoming a constant representative of inland Bahia before the major clubs of the capital, Salvador. The rivalry with other clubs in northern Bahia and the neighboring state of Pernambuco strengthened the identity and competitive spirit of Cancão de Fogo. In national access competitions, Juazeirense managed to compete in Series D of the Brazilian Championship, demonstrating institutional growth and expansion of its sports structure. The formation of players from the semi-arid region became one of the priorities and trademarks of the club. Currently, Juazeirense continues to compete in Bahian football and in national competitions, keeping alive the tradition of football in the interior of Bahia and being a reference for fans of the São Francisco Valley and the northeastern backlands.
