Founded in 1946, Juazeiro Esporte Clube is one of the most traditional clubs in the interior of Bahia, competing in state competitions throughout its history. The club built regional rivalry with neighboring teams from the São Francisco Valley and the state of Pernambuco, given the geographical proximity to Petrolina. Over the decades, it alternated participation between divisions of the Bahian Championship, maintaining relevance in amateur and semi-professional football in the region.
