Karlsruher SC is a club from Karlsruhe, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, with origins in 1894 in Phönix Karlsruhe. It was German champion in 1909, won the German Cup in 1955 and 1956 and reached the semifinals of the UEFA Cup in 1993-94.

History

The club originated from Karlsruher Fussball Club Phönix, founded in 1894. Its current form emerged from several mergers in 1952. In the 1993-94 season, KSC had a remarkable campaign in the UEFA Cup: they eliminated PSV, Valencia, Bordeaux and Boavista and fell in the semifinals on away goals against Austria Salzburg. The club plays its home matches at BBBank Wildpark, with a capacity of 33,180 spectators.
