History
Konyaspor was founded in 1922 in the city of Konya, in the Central Anatolia region, and spent decades alternating between the lower divisions of Turkish football before establishing itself in the national elite. The major milestone in the club's history occurred in the 2016-17 season, when Konyaspor won the Turkish Cup, its first major national title, and subsequently competed in the group stage of the Europa League. Playing its matches at the modern Konya Büyükşehir Belediyesi Stadium, the club is recognized for the strength of its fanbase and for developing players for other Turkish teams, maintaining a constant presence in the Süper Lig in the 2010s and 2020s.
