Clube Esportivo Lajeadense

History

Founded in 1911, Clube Esportivo Lajeadense was born in the early days of gaúcho football and consolidated itself as the main sports force in Lajeado and the Taquari Valley. Its blue and white colors gave rise to the nickname Alviazul, by which the club is known throughout the state. Throughout its hundred-year history, Lajeadense alternated periods in the access divisions and in the elite of the Gaucho Championship, facing the state's big teams, such as Grêmio and Internacional, in its traditional Estádio Florestal, surrounded by the vegetation that gave it its name. In the first half of the 2010s, the club lived one of its best recent moments, competing again in the first division of the Gaucho Championship and projecting the name of Lajeado in the state scenario. Lajeadense continues as a reference in the region's football, with strong identification with the local community.
