History

Founded in 1892, Liverpool dominated English football in the 1970s and 1980s under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, winning the European Cup four times. The tragedy of Hillsborough in 1989 deeply marked the club and its fans. In 2005, it staged the greatest comeback in Champions League history by recovering a three-goal deficit against Milan in the final. Under Jürgen Klopp, the club won the Premier League in 2020, after 30 years of waiting, and the Champions League in 2019.
