Livingston FC is a Scottish football club originally founded as Ferranti Thistle, currently competing between the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Championship, with a history of winning the Scottish League Cup.

History

The club was founded in 1943 as Ferranti Thistle in Edinburgh, before moving to the city of Livingston in 1974 and adopting its current name, coming to represent Scotland's new planned city within the Scottish league system. Livingston experienced its most prominent period in the early 2000s, when it achieved successive promotions to reach the Scottish Premier League and won the Scottish League Cup in 2004, as well as competing in European competitions, including the UEFA Cup. Since then, the club has alternated seasons between the first and second divisions of Scottish football, maintaining itself as a competitive team known for its synthetic pitch at Tony Macaroni Arena, as well as its structure focused on developing young players.
