FC Lokomotiv Moscow

FC Lokomotiv Moscow is one of the four major clubs in the Russian capital and historically linked to Soviet railway workers. Founded in 1923, the club lived its golden age in the early 2000s under the command of coach Yuri Semin. It is a club with a strong working-class identity.

History

FC Lokomotiv Moscow conquered its main national titles between 1999 and 2004, becoming consecutive Russian champions. The club reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League in 2003-04, its best European campaign. The Serbian Dmitri Loskov and the Russian Sergei Gurenko were pillars of the championship team. In recent years, the club has maintained its presence among the best in Russian football.
