Luverdense Esporte Clube
Luverdense Esporte Clube is a Brazilian club founded in 2005 in Lucas do Rio Verde, in Mato Grosso. Despite being young, it surprised national football by competing in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship and dominating the state scene for half a decade.
History
Founded on February 21, 2005, Luverdense is one of the youngest clubs to reach the national divisions of Brazilian football. The name is a fusion of the words 'Lucas do Rio Verde' with the suffix 'dense', honoring the agribusiness city of Mato Grosso that hosts it. In just over a decade of existence, the club won five consecutive Mato Grosso State Championships between 2011 and 2015, a rare achievement in Brazilian state football. This sequence led the club to compete in Serie B of the Brasileirão in 2014 and 2015, establishing itself as a regional powerhouse. The Passo das Emas Stadium is Luverdense's home, located in one of Brazil's regions with the greatest economic growth. The predominant green in the uniform represents the vast soybean plantations in the region, a visual identity that distinguishes the club in the national scene.
