History

Founded in 2016 in the city of Maringá, the second largest city in Paraná, Maringá FC emerged in a context where the city had previously hosted the historic Maringá Sport Club, with decades of regional tradition. The new club invested in professional management and modern infrastructure to achieve remarkable growth. Within just a few years, the club won the 2022 Paranaense Championship, eliminating the traditional Athletico-PR in the final—a feat that surprised the national football scene. The victory was considered one of the greatest achievements in recent Paraná football history by a young club. The Willie Davids Stadium, with capacity for over 11 thousand supporters, became the symbol of Maringá football's new era. The club invested in youth development programs and attracts young talents from northwestern Paraná, establishing itself as one of the most consistent projects in football in southern Brazil's interior.
