History
Maringá Futebol Clube was founded in 2010 in the city of Maringá, in northern Paraná, in a region with a football tradition but which had lost competitive representatives in previous decades. The club began its trajectory in the lower divisions of Paraná football and gained space quickly, reaching the elite of the Paranaense Championship and establishing itself as one of the main representatives of the interior of the state. Adopting the red, black and white colors and the Dogão nickname, Maringá FC started playing its home games at Willie Davids Stadium, a traditional sports venue in the city. The fan base grew alongside the club's state campaigns. In the 2020s, Dogão gained national prominence by competing in competitions organized by the CBF, including the Copa do Brasil, and had remarkable campaigns in the Paranaense Championship, reaching the final stages of the competition.
