Melbourne City FC

The Melbourne City FC is one of the most modern and ambitious clubs in Australian football, owned by the City Football Group, a conglomerate that also controls Manchester City and other clubs around the world. Founded in 2009 as Melbourne Heart, the club was acquired by the group in 2014 and renamed Melbourne City, adopting the group's colors and philosophy. With the financial and methodological support of the group, the club became one of the dominant forces of the Australian A-League.

History

Melbourne City conquered its first A-League Men's title in 2021 and repeated the achievement in 2022, establishing itself as the most dominant team in Australian football at the present time. The club also won the W-League with Melbourne City Women, becoming a powerhouse in women's football as well. The City Football Group's methodology, focused on ball possession, high pressing, and development of young talents, completely transformed the club's profile. AAMI Park, with a capacity of 30,000 people, is considered one of the best football stadiums in Oceania.
