Metropolitano Esporte Clube

Metropolitano Esporte Clube is one of the oldest clubs in Santa Catarina, founded in 1914 in Brusque. With over a century of existence, the club represents the strong football tradition of the Itajaí Valley and Santa Catarina football.

History

Founded in 1914, Metropolitano EC is one of the longest-standing clubs in Santa Catarina football. Based in Brusque, a city with German heritage in the Itajaí Valley, the club built its identity over generations of fans and athletes from the region. Throughout the 20th century, Metropolitano participated in several editions of the Santa Catarina Championship, alternating between periods of prominence and reconstruction, as is common among clubs from the Brazilian interior. In recent years, the club competed in Serie D of the Brazilian Championship and editions of the Copa do Brasil, maintaining an active professional structure. The rivalry with other Santa Catarina clubs, especially those from the coast and west of the state, is part of Metropolitano's identity. Its stadium, Aldo Dapieve, hosts one of the oldest football traditions in Santa Catarina.
