History

Montpellier HSC was founded in 1974 and grew progressively in the French football scene, rising from the lower divisions to consolidate itself in the elite of Ligue 1. The club represents the Hérault region in southern France and has a loyal and passionate fan base. The club's greatest achievement was winning the Ligue 1 title in the 2011-2012 season, one of the greatest surprises in the history of French football.
