Nacional Football Club
One of the largest clubs in Uruguay, founded in 1899, with national and international titles.
History
Founded on May 14, 1899, through the merger of Montevideo Football Club with Uruguay Athletic Club, Nacional is one of the most traditional clubs in South America. It was the first Uruguayan club to win the Intercontinental Cup. The club won multiple editions of the Copa Libertadores and the Uruguayan Primera División, competing in a historic rivalry with Peñarol, the so-called Classic of Uruguayan football. Nacional developed great players throughout its history and maintains a tradition of continental success, being one of the most decorated clubs on the continent.
