History

Founded in 1926, Napoli represented southern football, historically in the shadow of northern clubs. The arrival of Maradona in 1984 changed everything: the Argentine led the club to two Italian Championship titles and one UEFA Cup. In 2022-23, Spalletti's Napoli won the Scudetto in a dominant manner, as a tribute to the stadium named after Maradona.
