NK Osijek

NK Osijek

NK Osijek is a traditional club from Croatia, founded in 1947 in the city of Osijek. It is one of the few clubs that has competed in all editions of the Croatian first division since its creation in 1992.

History

NK Osijek was founded in 1947 in the city of Osijek, in eastern Croatia, and competed in Yugoslav football until the country's independence, alternating between the first and second divisions of Yugoslavia. With the creation of the Croatian championship (Prva HNL) in 1992, Osijek became one of its founding members and is one of the only clubs that has never been relegated from the national elite, alongside giants such as Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split. Its main title is the 1998-99 Croatian Cup, which guaranteed the club participation in European competitions. In 2023, the club inaugurated the modern Opus Arena, and continues to regularly compete for top positions in the Croatian championship and places in continental cups.
