History
Odense Boldklub was founded in 1887 in the city of Odense, on the island of Funen, and became one of the main clubs in Danish football outside Copenhagen. Throughout the 20th century, it became the great sporting reference in the region. The club's best period came between the 1970s and 1980s, when it won the Danish Championship in 1977, 1982 and 1989. During this period, the OB also lifted the Danish Cup in 1983, in a generation that placed the Funen team among the country's strongest. In the following decades, the club won more Cup titles, triumphing in 1991, 1993 and 2002, and regularly participated in European competitions organized by UEFA, always with a loyal fan base in Odense. The OB plays its home games at Nature Energy Park, a stadium that has had other names over the years, and remains a symbol of football on the island of Funen.
