History

Founded in 1904 in the Olaria neighborhood, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, the club is one of the pioneers of Carioca and Brazilian football. In its early years of existence, it faced teams that would become great powers of national football, such as Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo, helping to build the rich footballing tradition of the state. During the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, Olaria experienced its period of greatest expression, regularly participating in the main divisions of the Carioca Championship and revealing talents that would later shine in clubs of greater projection. The Olaria neighborhood, marked by the working-class and suburban culture of Rio, saw in the club a symbol of local identity. The Proletário Guilherme Paraense Stadium, inaugurated in the neighborhood and home to the club, carries in its name the popular essence of the association. On its grass fields, generations of fans followed the struggles of the Tiger for points in the Carioca Championship. Throughout the 21st century, Olaria went on to compete in the lower divisions of Carioca and national football, keeping alive more than a century of history and tradition. The club remains a cultural heritage of the Rio suburbs, a symbol of the popular passion for football.
