History

The women's section of Olympique Lyonnais was founded in 1970 and, over the decades, became the greatest force in European women's football. The club's substantial investment from the 2000s onwards elevated the team to a new level of competitiveness. Between 2011 and 2020, OL Feminin won multiple editions of the UEFA Women's Champions League, forming one of the most star-studded squads in the sport, with players from various nationalities. The club also accumulates dozens of French national titles, being a world reference in structure and development of women's football players. To this day, OL Feminin is considered one of the greatest examples of success in the professionalization of women's football worldwide.
