Oxford United FC

Oxford United is an English football club based in Oxford. Known for their yellow and blue colors, they compete in the English Football League and are one of the most traditional clubs in the Midlands.

History

Oxford United was founded in 1882 as Headington United. For much of its history, the club competed in the lower divisions of English football. In 1984, it achieved a historic promotion to the English first division under the management of Robert Maxwell. The club moved to the Kassam Stadium in 2001, a modern stadium that became its new home. Although it has fluctuated between divisions, Oxford continues to seek a return to the peaks of its historical success and maintains a respected place in English football tradition.
