Club de Fútbol Pachuca

CF Pachuca is one of the oldest clubs in Mexico, founded in 1901 by English miners. It has won multiple titles in Liga MX and CONCACAF Champions League, making it one of the most successful clubs in North America.

History

Club de Fútbol Pachuca was born in 1901, a result of the presence of English miners who worked in the silver mines of the Pachuca region, in the state of Hidalgo. These workers brought football to Mexico and founded the club, which is why Pachuca is often called the cradle of Mexican football. Its shield and blue and white colors reflect its British roots. Throughout the 20th century, the club experienced ups and downs, but it was from the late 1990s onwards that the 'Tuzos' consolidated themselves as a continental powerhouse. With a policy of talent development and infrastructure investment, Pachuca built one of the most respected development centers in the Americas, the famous Pachuca Football Center. In Liga MX, the club won multiple titles in the 2000s, particularly between 1999 and 2016. On the continental stage, Pachuca was dominant in the CONCACAF Champions League, winning the competition in 2002, 2007, 2008, and 2010, becoming the club with the most titles in the competition. It also represented Mexico in Club World Cups, reaching semifinals and quarterfinals.
