Palmeiras is the Brazilian club with the most titles in the Brazilian Championship, being one of the most successful in the history of national football. Its football academy is recognized as one of the best in Brazil.

History

Founded in 1914 by Italian immigrants as Palestra Itália, the club adopted the name Palmeiras in 1942. In the 1990s and 2000s, it experienced great moments with national and international titles under coaches such as Vanderlei Luxemburgo. In 2021, Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores in dramatic fashion, winning in extra time. In 2022, the club became two-time Libertadores champions by defeating Athletico Paranaense.
