Paraná Clube 1992
Paraná Clube in 1992 was the team that won the Campeonato Brasileiro da Série B, just three years after the club's foundation. The title marked the arrival of the young Curitiba-based club to the elite of Brazilian football.
History
Paraná Clube was founded on December 19, 1989, from the merger between Colorado Esporte Clube and Esporte Clube Pinheiros, two traditional clubs from Curitiba. The union brought together structures, fan bases and assets, including the Vila Capanema stadium, inherited from the city's railway tradition. In 1992, with little more than two years of existence, the club competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro da Série B and finished as champions. The title gave Paraná access to the first national division and made it one of the fastest cases of ascension in Brazilian football. The 1992 conquest opened the most victorious period in the club's history, which began to compete in the national elite in the following years and established itself as one of the main forces in Paraná football in the 1990s.
