Paraná Clube

Paraná Clube

Paraná Clube is one of the main clubs in Paraná football, born from the merger of two traditional Curitiba clubs. With notable participations in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship in the 1990s and 2000s, the Tricolor established itself as a reference in southern Brazilian football.

History

Founded in 1989 from the merger of Esporte Clube Colorado and Esporte Clube Nacional, two historic Curitiba clubs, Paraná Clube emerged with the ambition to unify forces and represent Curitiba with greater expression in the national scene. The club quickly established itself in Paraná football, winning the Paraná State Championship in its early years and securing access to the elite of Brazilian football. Its rise was notable for the speed at which a young club managed to compete with the century-old traditions of the state. In the 1990s and 2000s, the Tricolor competed in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship on several occasions, becoming the third Curitiba club to feature in the national elite alongside Athletico Paranaense and Coritiba, historic rivals with whom it shares the passion of the capital. Estádio Durival de Britto e Silva, located in the Vila Capanema neighborhood, is the club's home and stage for the greatest emotions of the Tricolor, including memorable derbies and decisive matches that marked generations of Paraná fans.
