Atlético Clube Paranavaí
Founded in 1946 in the city of Paranavaí, in northwest Paraná, Atlético Clube Paranavaí is one of the most traditional clubs in the interior of Paraná. In 2007 it achieved one of the most remembered feats in the state's football by becoming champions of the Paraná State Championship over Paraná Clube, a title won by an inland team over a capital team that had not happened since Grêmio Maringá in 1977.
History
The club was founded on March 14, 1946, in a region that was experiencing the economic boom of coffee in northwest Paraná. It made its debut in the Paraná State Championship in 1960 and, in 1967, won its first official title, the state Second Division, a competition it would win again in 1983, 1992 and, most recently, in 2026. The peak of ACP's history occurred in 2007, when the team surprised Paraná football by winning the Paraná State Championship, overcoming Paraná Clube in the final. The feat was historic as it was an achievement by an inland team over a capital club, something rare in the state. The club was also champion of the second half of the interior in 2003 and 2007. Since then, Atlético Clube Paranavaí has alternated participations between state divisions and the Brazilian Championship Series D, maintaining itself as a reference in football in the northwest region of Paraná, playing its matches at the Waldemiro Wagner Municipal Stadium, with a capacity of about 25 thousand fans.
