Paris FC is a club from the French capital founded in 1969. After decades away from the elite, it returned to Ligue 1 in 2025, after finishing the 2024–25 Ligue 2 in second place.

History

Paris FC was created in 1969, with support from the French federation, to give Paris a major professional club. In 1970, the project was merged with Stade Saint-Germain and gave rise to Paris Saint-Germain, but the partnership was dissolved in 1972, and the two clubs went their separate ways. Since then, Paris FC alternated seasons in the lower divisions of French football, with long periods away from the elite and financial difficulties. In 2024, the Arnault family, through Agache Sport, took majority control of the club, with participation also from the Alter Paris group, Red Bull, and BRI Sports Holdings. In the 2024–25 season, Paris FC finished Ligue 2 as runner-up and secured promotion to Ligue 1, from which it had been absent since the end of the 1970s. From 2025 onwards, the club began playing its matches at Stade Jean-Bouin, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, with a capacity of about 20,000 supporters, after using Stade Sébastien-Charléty for many years.
