Parma is one of the most surprising clubs in the history of Italian football, having experienced a meteoric rise in the 1990s. History

Financed by the Parmalat group, Parma experienced its golden era between 1993 and 2002, winning two UEFA Cup titles, three Italian Cups, and one Cup Winners' Cup. The club revealed players such as Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, and Hernan Crespo. Parmalat's bankruptcy in 2003 marked the beginning of the decline, and in 2015 the club was relegated to the fourth division of Italian football. Parma rose through the divisions and returned to Serie A in 2018.
