History
Patrocinense Football Club was founded in 1980 in the city of Patrocínio, in the interior of Minas Gerais, a region known for coffee production that inspired the team's nickname, Cafezal. Throughout its existence, the club established itself as one of the main forces in the interior of Minas Gerais, regularly participating in the access divisions of the Minas Gerais State Championship. In the 2010s and 2020s, Patrocinense gained greater national projection by competing in the Serie D of the Brazilian Championship on several occasions, serving as a showcase for regional players seeking space in professional football. The club plays its home matches at Munir Calixto Stadium, a venue for decisive matches in the football of inland Minas Gerais, and maintains youth categories as a way to develop local talents.
