History
The club was founded in 1914 as Club Atlético Patronato de la Juventud Católica, in the city of Paraná, in Entre Ríos. For decades, it played in the lower divisions and regional leagues of Argentine football. Patronato climbed divisions over the years and reached the top flight of Argentine football in 2019, after a campaign in the second division. It began playing its matches at Presbítero Bernardo Grella stadium. In 2022, it had the best campaign in its history: it became Copa Argentina champions by defeating Talleres in the final. The title gave it a place in continental competitions and the Supercopa Argentina. In 2023, the club was relegated to the Primera Nacional, but remains a symbol of the growth of interior clubs in the country.
