History
Perth Glory was created in 1995 to compete in the National Soccer League, the former Australian national league, and made its debut in the 1996-97 season. It quickly became the leading football club in Western Australia, with strong local fan support. The club won the NSL title in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. Following the end of the NSL, it joined the A-League from its first edition in 2005-06. In the A-League, their best moment came in 2018-19, when Perth Glory finished first in the regular season and won the Premiers' Plate. In the grand final, they lost to Sydney FC on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The team plays their home matches at HBF Park, also called Perth Rectangular Stadium.
